Monday 20, 2012

Dear Family, Monday 20, 2012

So transfers were this week and Hermana Per and I get to stay together for this cambio. Yay! We both figured we would stay together because she has to finish her training. This week, was a bit tough…lots of rejection, false addresses, and all that good stuff that missionaries get to experience. It’s a little different here because there aren't really addresses with numbers and street names or anything. Here it’s just like "next to the field where there is a white house with a dog in front." It makes it really hard to find people sometimes. We found some really positive people this week but the biggest challenge is actually finding their houses! Last night Hermana Per and I were tracting and we knocked on a door and a few kids opened the door. One of the little boys was about 5 years old and asked who were looking for. "You’re mom." we told him. He said ok, then ran in the house and ran back and asked what are names were. We told him and then he ran back in the house then back to the door and asked "What do you need to talk to her about?" "Your Salvation", I responded. He just stood there with a confused look on his face. Hermana Per couldn't contain her laughter. Eventually the mom came out to talk to us and we talked about the Gospel but she eventually turned us down. I didn't really intend on being so bold but it just kind of popped out. I guess it was worth a try. But I’ve been thinking more about my purpose as a missionary and this isn’t just any type of work. This is salvation. What a privilege to have this calling. Even though it can be tough at times, I know it is worth it.

Love you all,

Hermana Jackson
